COMMON QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

The practical details people usually need before their first Tipo meeting.

Does every participant need an account?

No. Collaborators who need ongoing project access should sign in. A host can also create a temporary guest entrance link for a particular meeting.

Which files can I review?

Tipo supports PDFs, JPEG, PNG, GIF and WebP images, JSON files used by the application, and MP4 video. You can also save supported YouTube and Vimeo links in a project.

How large can an upload be?

MP4 video uploads can be up to 1.5 GB. Other supported project files can be up to 200 MB.

Can guests see the whole project?

A meeting guest receives temporary access to that meeting and its available meeting files. They do not become a permanent organisation or project member.

What happens when the host changes the page?

Participants following the host move to the same active file and page. Anyone can stop following to view independently, then return to the shared view.

Why does a PDF take a moment the first time?

The browser has to download and render each page. Tipo begins preparing meeting PDFs in the background and keeps rendered pages available while you move between files, so repeat viewing should be much faster.

Which browser should I use?

Use a current version of Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox. Allow camera and microphone access when joining a call, and use a reliable connection for video or screen sharing.

Can Tipo messages connect to Slack, Discord or Telegram?

Yes. An organisation owner or admin connects the external service in Settings, then a project manager chooses that project’s messaging destination. Two-way mode imports replies from the selected dedicated channel or group. Notifications-only mode sends labelled updates outward without importing external replies.
